Nam Myungwoo
작업은 삶 속에서 체득한 감정의 추상성을 형상화하는 것으로 ,
나의 내면에 대한 통찰이자, 억압되었던 감정들을 표출하는 해방의 의식(ritual)이다.
이것은 불편한 현실로부터 벗어나, 삶을 바라보고 나와의 관계 속에 질서와 규칙을 재정립한다.
작업에서 표현된 인물은 비사실적인 모습을 지니고 있지만, 이는 감정의 형태적 상징으로 타인과의 소통을 위한 기호 역할을 하고있다. 작품에 표현된 이미지는 추상 형태(form)로서의 색채와 선의 덩어리(mass)이며, 거기에 얼굴과 몸이라는 형상(shape)을 빌어 감정을 담아낸 것이다.
The work is about figuring an abstract idea arising from my daily life,
which is a liberation ritual expressing oppressed emotions as well as an insight of my inner world.
It reviews the life out of uncomfortable realities, and re-establishes rules and orders between life and myself. The figure in the work looks non-objective, but plays a role as a symbol representing emotions for communication with others. The images expressed in the work are masses of colors and lines in the form of abstraction through a shape of face and body to represent emotions.
